Waiting for Sandy (from Sandy Hook)

There is something a tad unnerving about a hurricane named Sandy. Sounds so “girl next door,” harmless, kind of sweet, with freckles. And also a bit ominous for those living near Sandy Hook…seems like we’re a magnet for the namesake! Let’s hope not! Of course, I had just mused on the fact that we had escaped hurricane season unscathed–the day before Sandy entered our consciousness. Fingers crossed that this is just hype by the weather forecasters!
